Boeing Global Services (BGS) Supply Chain Engineering is currently looking for a Tool Engineer (Associate and Experienced) to join their team in Seal Beach, CA. This role involves providing tooling support for spare parts procurement across multiple Boeing and heritage McDonnell Douglas Commercial Airplane models. You will partner with Senior Tool Engineers to develop our tooling strategy, optimize how we store, dispose of, and manage Out-of-Production Tooling, and collaborate with engineering work streams, third‑party logistics suppliers, and international business partners.
Typical tasks include assisting suppliers with tooling fabrication questions, processing quote backup sheets, analyzing tools for scrap/retain decisions, assessing tool quotes for cost, and managing tool data in the PLM system. The position is 100% onsite.
- Assist internal and external suppliers and customers with tooling–related fabrication questions.
- Process quote backup sheets with required tooling and technical data to support procurement for Out‑of‑Production product lines.
- Interrogate engineering/tooling drawings and CAD models to understand tool geometry and complexity, with knowledge of the Cartesian coordinate system and GD&T.
- Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes (casting, machining, forging, sheet metal fabrication, tube bending, welding, molding, composite lay‑up, assembly) to support Supply Chain.
- Understand different part commodities/part build strategies and typical tool types used for each commodity.
- Conduct periodic tool inspections and audits.
- Articulate technical details related to fabrication methods and required tools.
- Apply basic understanding of Loft Engineering.
- Utilize Master Tooling to control aircraft configuration.
- Use Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; domestically and/or internationally depending on business needs.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a non‑US equivalent directly related to the work statement.
- 1+ year of experience in an engineering discipline.
- 1+ year of experience in a tool/equipment engineering or tool manufacturing environment.
- 1+ year of experience with multiple CAD/CAM applications (e.g., Mastercam, Catia V5, Unigraphics, etc.).
- 3+ years of higher education and/or related work experience.
- Experience in a Tool Engineering role.
- Experience with Boeing and McDonnell Douglas aircraft engineering product structure.
- Experience with REDARS.
- Experience working in a production environment.
- Ability to learn in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to collaborate with both engineering staff and factory mechanics.
- Project management knowledge and strong communication skills.

Pay is based on experience and qualifications.
Summary pay range for Associate Level (Level
2): $90,950 – $123,050.
Summary pay range for Experienced Level (Level
3): $111,350 – $150,650.
