Position: DevOps Developer 4

This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) Space, Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SI&WS), Ground and Mission Systems Engineering (GMSE) is looking for a Lead or Senior Dev Ops Developer to join our team in Seal Beach or El Segundo, California.

The SI&WS GMSE division creates the next generation products and services for the BDS business unit. We work with both commercial and proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space. Our team focuses on rapid prototyping to demonstrate a host of mission-focused technologies for a variety of customers. Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements, design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments.

The Dev Ops Developer will join a high-performing team that is immersed in high intensity development projects. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work proprietary programs for U.S. government customers who are responsible for exciting advanced technology national security missions.

Position Responsibilities
  • Apply modern Dev Ops practices (including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, containerized deployments, and infrastructure as code) to streamline integration and test activities
  • Stand up, configure, and maintain secure test environments leveraging cloud-native and virtualized resources
  • Drive continuous improvement of integration and test processes, incorporating automation, metrics, and lessons learned to increase efficiency and reliability
  • Automate, develop, monitor, improve, and troubleshoot across engineering development, tooling, testing, integration, deployment, configuration processes, and security controls
  • Review, develop, document, and maintain system requirements and traceability
  • Interface with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and external customers
Required Skills
  • 3+ years of experience with deploying, securing and supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems (RHEL5/6/7/8)
  • Experience in Dev Ops cloud system design
  • Experience with scripting, particularly in shell scripting in sh and csh variants, Bash, Python, and PERL
  • Experience writing and implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Bicep, ARM, or Terraform
  • Must be willing and able to travel occasionally to support customer needs
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including on call support as needed (including weekends and holidays)
  • Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with an adjudicated CI/FS polygraph
Preferred Skills
  • 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with VMware Virtual Machines and Hypervisor
  • Experience with PKI certificates and Security protocols
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with Windows 10+
  • Active CompTIA Security+ certification
