Job Summary
The Grounds Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all grounds maintenance operations to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and high-quality landscaping standards. This position leads, schedules, and supervises grounds personnel, manages irrigation systems, ensures plant and turf health, and provides technical expertise for advanced landscaping tasks. The Grounds Supervisor serves as the primary point of contact for daily grounds activities and ensures safety, efficiency, and professional execution of landscape operations.

- Supervise, schedule, and coordinate daily, weekly, and long-term grounds maintenance operations in accordance with contract requirements.
- Lead and manage grounds maintenance personnel, providing field leadership and setting daily work priorities.
- Conduct daily safety briefings and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all ground care activities.
- Inspect landscaped areas to identify deficiencies and ensure work quality meets contract standards.
- Maintain, inspect, and manage ground irrigation systems, ensuring full operability.
- Perform irrigation system start-up, winterization, diagnose deficiencies, and coordinate or execute repairs.
- Manage procurement, tracking, and inventory control of grounds maintenance supplies and materials.
- Serve as liaison with Government Contracting Officer's Representatives (CORs) and other stakeholders.
- Provide technical expertise and hands‑on leadership during advanced landscaping tasks as required.
Skills & Qualifications
- At least five (5) years of recent (within the past 10 years) responsible experience in field management of commercial or industrial grounds maintenance operations.
- Demonstrated experience scheduling, supervising, and leading a grounds maintenance workforce.
- Experience in long‑term landscape and plant health planning.
- Professional skill in turf maintenance, plant health treatment, soil management, tree maintenance, and irrigation systems.
- Knowledge of fertilizer application, weed control, vegetation removal, and bedding requirements.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Real –compliant driver's license and ability to operate motor vehicles and light equipment.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to pass a background investigation and physical examination.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Additional vocational or technical coursework Grounds Management, Turf Management, or Landscaping
