Senior Software Engineer – Developer

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Developer to support our Daybreak team located in Seal Beach, California or El Segundo, California.

This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization. The role involves designing real‑time, cloud‑native, partner‑integrated software to support a mission‑critical radar processing ecosystem. Your work will be visible, mission‑critical, and evolving, with ownership of complexity and high impact expected.

• Lead the design, development, test, and maintenance of non‑embedded software throughout the end‑to‑end lifecycle that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards.
• Review, analyze, and translate customer requirements into the initial design of software products.
• Coordinate the development, maintenance, enhancement, and optimization of software products and functionalities for systems integrations.
• Develop, document, and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software products.
• Debug and lead resolution of issues to ensure reliability and efficiency of software products.
• Handle user inquiries, troubleshoot technical issues, and analyze user feedback.
• Research and implement current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulatory changes relevant to software development.
• Develop, establish, monitor, and improve software processes, tools, and key performance metrics aligned with organizational goals and industry benchmarks.
• Execute and document software research and development projects.
• Consult on software domains, system‑specific issues, processes, and regulations.
• Lead software project management activities and software supplier management functions.
• Track and evaluate software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standards.

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Experience with Dev Ops tools such as Git, Jenkins, or CI/CD.

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science, with 9+ years of related work experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 13+ years of directly related work experience, or 17+ years of related, relevant experience.
• 2+ years’ experience in Python/C++ programming on full‑stack software projects/programs.
• Experience with AWS, AWS Lambdas, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience developing and maintaining REST APIs and interfaces.
• Experience with test‑driven development, agile software development, continuous integration, and dependency management.
• Experience with satellite ground mission capabilities, products, and/or customers.
• Experience with Dev Sec Ops  and continuous integration (CI/CD, Jenkins, Git Lab).

• Competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities.

• Pay range: $171,700–$232,300.
