Overview
The Director of Software Engineering will be a senior leader responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of innovative, customer-facing financial products and digital services. Reporting to the CIO, the Director of Software Engineering will own the engineering roadmap and execution, drive technical strategy and scale high-performing engineering teams to support the growth ambitions. You will oversee the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring that all products are delivered with high quality, exceptional scalability, and robust security, all while aligning with the overall technology vision.
Responsibilities- Lead the design, development, and delivery of financial products and digital services.
- Own the engineering roadmap and technical strategy.
- Scale and manage high-performing software engineering teams across cross-functional groups.
- Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring product quality, scalability, and security.
- Collaborate with CIO and other stakeholders to align technology initiatives with business goals.
- Experience: Senior level with 10+ years of software engineering experience; at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing cross-functional technical teams.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field required;
Master’s degree preferred. - Technical Expertise: Modern programming languages (Java, Python, Full Stack) and software design patterns for financial applications.
- Cloud and Architecture: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure preferred) and distributed microservices architectures.
- Dev Ops and CI/CD: Proven ability to implement and manage CI/CD pipelines and modern Dev Ops practices.
- Automation and Data: Experience with workflow automation/RPA (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism) and data engineering (ETL, data lakes, real-time streaming with Kafka/Spark).
- Financial Services: Knowledge of transaction processing, data security standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities with hands-on problem-solving.
- Proactive knowledge of current and future IT concepts and industry trends.
- Salary: $200,000 - $300,000 per year
