SummaryThe Junior Accountant will support the accounting team in daily financial operations and month-end close activities. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, accounts payable processes, and cost accounting concepts. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and proficient in Excel, with the ability to gather, review, and manage financial data and supporting documentation from multiple sources.
Responsibilities- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and maintain account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Review, process, and post accounts payable invoices in a timely manner
- Maintain proper documentation and support for all financial transactions
- Assist with inventory tracking, reconciliation, and reporting
- Support cost accounting activities, including analysis of production costs and variances
- Gather, analyze, and organize financial data from various departments
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards Qualifications
- 1–3 years of accounting experience preferred (internship experience acceptable)
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP knowledge preferred)
- Experience with accounts payable processes
- Basic knowledge of cost accounting and inventory processes
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
- Experience with accounting software/ERP systems is a plus
- Ability to read, write, and speak English with minimal assistance from an interpreter
- This position requires strong math skills. Employee must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- High level of integrity and professionalism
