Job SummaryThe Excavator Driver will operate heavy excavator machinery to support site preparation, trenching, grading, and earthmoving activities. The role requires strong technical skill, safety awareness, and the ability to work effectively within a construction team.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperate excavators (various tonnage) for digging, trenching, lifting, and loading materials.
Perform daily machine inspections and report maintenance needs.
Ensure all operations comply with company safety standards and local regulations.
Interpret site plans and follow directions from site supervisors or engineers.
Maintain accurate logs of machine operation and fuel usage.
Assist with basic equipment maintenance and cleaning.
Communicate effectively with ground personnel to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Follow all environmental, health, and safety procedures.
Required Qualifications & CertificationsValid Excavator Operator Certification (e.g.,
Heavy Equipment Operator Certificate
, CPCS/NPORS
, OSHA-compliant training
, or local equivalent).
Valid driver's license (optional based on region).
Minimum 2-3 years experience operating excavators on construction sites.
Knowledge of trenching, grading, and earthmoving techniques.
Understanding of construction safety standards.
Preferred QualificationsExperience with multiple heavy equipment types (loaders, backhoes, skid steers).
Ability to read and interpret site drawings.
Basic mechanical knowledge.
SkillsStrong hand-eye coordination and machine-handling skills.
Attention to detail and site awareness.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Physical RequirementsAbility to sit for extended periods.
Ability to work in hot, cold, or noisy construction environments.
Capable of lifting up to 25 kg if needed.
