Primary
Purpose:
Provide leadership, coordination, and support for district-wide behavior systems and services. Ensure the effective implementation of proactive, research-based behavioral supports; promote consistent discipline practices; and build staff capacity to address the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students. Support campuses in maintaining safe, structured, and supportive learning environments aligned with district goals and state/federal requirements.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree required
Master's degree preferred, but not required, in education, special education, counseling, behavior analysis, psychology, or related field
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignments
CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification or ability to obtain
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
Knowledge of behavior intervention systems (PBIS, MTSS)
Knowledge of restorative practices and de-escalation strategies
Knowledge of Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process and Individual Education Plan (IEP) goal setting and implementation
Knowledge of behavior and social skill intervention techniques and methodology
Ability to work with students with pervasive developmental disabilities
Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of state and federal laws related to student discipline and behavior
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to analyze and interpret behavior and discipline data
Experience:
Three (3) years of experience as a special education teacher, in related social work, or in work related
to the certified field.
Experience working with students including implementing behavior management strategies.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional & Program Leadership:
* Develop, implement, and monitor behavior intervention procedures and discipline systems.
* Assist campuses in aligning discipline practices with district policies and legal requirements.
* Collaborate with administrators and teachers to design and develop research based behavioral intervention plans (BIP), provide support to instructional staff in implementing BIPs, and classroom management strategies.
* Monitor the effectiveness of behavior intervention plans and recommend changes as needed.
* Provide guidance on complex student behavior cases and disciplinary decisions.
* Conference with parents, administrators, and teachers concerning school and student issues.
Professional Development:
* Identify staff development needs, develop and present training, and coach campus personnel to continually develop and enhance behavioral assessment and intervention skills.
* Provide ongoing coaching and modeling to support effective behavior practices in classrooms.
* Provide behavior management training for parents as needed.
Student Support:
* Assist with the development and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
* Support Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and intervention planning.
* Participate in ARD/IEP meetings as needed to support student behavior needs.
* Provide consultation and problem-solving support to campus teams.
Data & Compliance:
* Monitor and analyze discipline and behavior data to identify trends and needs.
* Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with state and federal requirements.
* Support campuses with discipline reporting and data integrity.
Collaboration:
* Collaborate with administrators, special education staff, counselors, and related service providers.
* Communicate effectively with families regarding behavior supports and interventions.
* Partner with community agencies and external providers as needed.
