Environmental Coordinator

Location: Sealy, TX
Reports To: EHS Manager

Position Summary

Hailiang Copper Texas is seeking an Environmental Coordinator to support environmental compliance, wastewater treatment operations, and sustainability initiatives at our Sealy, TX manufacturing facility. This role ensures compliance with EPA and TCEQ regulations and supports ongoing EHS programs and works with the EHS team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations (EPA, TCEQ).
  • Operate and maintain the facility’s onsite wastewater treatment system, including sampling, testing, monitoring, and recordkeeping.
  • Maintain environmental permits, reports, and documentation (TPDES, Tier II, TRI, SPCC, waste records).
  • Coordinate hazardous and non-hazardous waste management activities.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and environmental monitoring.
  • Support sustainability and waste-reduction initiatives.
  • Assist with future planning and operation of an onsite water well if applicable.
  • Support EHS programs and employee environmental training as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or related field preferred.
  • TCEQ Wastewater Operator License (Class C minimum; Class B preferred).
  • 3+ years of environmental compliance or wastewater experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations (EPA, TCEQ, Clean Water Act, RCRA).
  • Experience with wastewater systems, sampling, and reporting.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to obtain TCEQ Water Operator License-Future
Working Conditions
  • Onsite position at manufacturing facility.
  • Combination of office and field work.
  • Exposure to varying environmental conditions as per local climate conditions.
  • Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required.
