Machine Operator Trainee
As a Machine Operator Trainee, you will train in the production area of a copper manufacturing facility, working closely with experienced operators to learn all aspects of machine operation and production processes. This role offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced industrial environment and prepares you to take on full machine operator responsibilities over time.
Responsibilities- Train alongside experienced machine operators to learn all facets of copper production and machine operation.
- Operate, monitor, and assist with production machinery under supervision, following established procedures and safety protocols.
- Perform general labor tasks in the production area, including material handling and basic equipment support.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area despite ongoing construction activities elsewhere in the facility.
- Follow all safety guidelines and use appropriate safety practices when working around heavy machinery and manufacturing equipment.
- Stand, walk, and move continuously throughout 10–12 hour shifts while performing production and labor-intensive tasks.
- Support the overall manufacturing process by responding to production needs and assisting team members as required.
- Report any safety concerns, equipment issues, or irregularities in the production process to supervisors promptly.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, production, or labor-intensive warehouse work.
- Ability to stand on your feet and perform physical tasks for 10–12 hour shifts.
- Strong safety mindset and comfort working in a manufacturing environment around machinery.
- Reliability and willingness to work rotating shifts, including days, nights, and weekends as scheduled.
- Ability to follow instructions, learn new processes quickly, and apply training to daily tasks.
- Basic understanding of general labor and production work in an industrial setting.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in safety within a manufacturing facility is a plus.
- Experience working in non-climate controlled industrial or warehouse environments.
- Comfort working in large facilities with many colleagues and ongoing construction activities.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work station.
You will join a large, established manufacturing operation where you can build valuable hands-on skills and grow into a fully trained machine operator. Work EnvironmentYou will work in a non-climate controlled, expansive copper manufacturing facility with approximately 250 colleagues. The facility is active and industrial, with machinery in operation and some construction activities that may create dust and clutter in certain areas, while individual work stations are kept clean and organized. The role involves labor-intensive tasks and requires standing and moving for 10–12 hour shifts.
You will work a rotating schedule that includes day and night 12-hour shifts and scheduled days off, aligned with the facility's three shift structure (1st, 2nd, and 3rd). Standard industrial dress, including appropriate safety gear and attire suitable for a manufacturing environment, is expected.
This is a Contract position based out of Sealy, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
