Role Description The Hospice Aide (Certified Nursing Assistant) at Acara Hospice provides direct, hands-on care and emotional support to patients receiving hospice services. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with personal care such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility, as well as monitoring and reporting changes in the patient’s condition to the nursing team. The role involves helping maintain a safe, comfortable environment, supporting family members, and respecting each patient’s dignity and preferences.

The Hospice Aide collaborates closely with nurses and other interdisciplinary team members to carry out individualized care plans. This is a full-time position. Our staff visit patients wherever they call home, so traveling between patients can be expected.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess a current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credentials and practical skills appropriate for direct patient care.
• Candidates should possess strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and clinical staff.
• Candidates should possess the ability to perform safe patient transfers and basic mobility assistance, and follow infection control and safety protocols.
• Relevant qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, current CNA certification in Texas, valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, and prior experience in hospice, home health, or long-term care settings.
