Instructor of Adult Education
This is a full-time, 12-month faculty position on the Searcy campus. Schedule includes teaching two evenings per week. The role of the Instructor of Adult Education is to offer instructional methods and materials to help the adult education student make basic educational gains in the subject areas of Reading, Math, and Language, as well as help the student earn the Arkansas High School Diploma by successfully passing the GED exam.
The teacher will also assist the Adult Ed Career Coach with monitoring students who are working toward completion of the WAGE Level One employability certification.
Essential duties and responsibilities include: instructing students in the Adult Education classroom with emphasis on CCR standards, developing student learning plans, guiding students enrolled in the WAGE employability certification program, attending required workshops and trainings, assisting with intake and entrance testing, creating learning plans for and guiding students who are studying online, and assisting with recruitment and retention efforts for the ASUB Adult Education program.
Required qualifications include a four year college degree in any relevant field of study, two years related experience and/or training, and a current Arkansas Department of Education teacher's license. Preferred licensure in Adult Education is also required if not already obtained within three years of the date of hire of initial employment as a full-time Adult Education Instructor.
The minimum salary range is $43,000-$45,000.
