The Production Supervisor makes an impact by -

The Production Supervisor responsibilities include leading and coordinating daily shift operations to ensure quality, quantity, safety, and cost targets are met during the manufacture of frozen dessert products in a cGMP compliant environment. The position includes planning and assigning work, enforcing policies and procedures, and recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions. Responsibilities include assuring that all Master Batch Record and quality control requirements are properly executed and documented during frozen dessert processing operations and that all products consistently meet specifications.

  • Direct hourly employees in all aspects of production and packaging operations.
  • Monitor line outputs and measure line KPI’s in a continual improvement environment.
  • Comply with all state and federal employment laws.
  • Implement and maintain a high level of good housekeeping and safety standards.
  • Train, develop, and evaluate employees.
  • Develop and maintain positive employee relations.
  • Openly participate in meetings with corporate and local management.
  • Exhibit continuity to the site supporting corporate and local management policies.
  • Keep management informed of developments as they occur.
  • Ensure department records are complete and transferred to central filing.
  • Maintain the integrity of the quality system.
  • Participate in departmental and cross‑functional teams for continuous improvement projects that will bring value to the customer.
  • Be engaged in the day‑to‑day running of the business by performing tasks beyond normal/baseline job responsibilities and participating in team or business improvement meetings and initiatives positioned toward improving business results.
  • Be accountable to the Turkey Hill Food Safety and Quality Principles.
  • Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
  • Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Food Safety and Quality.
  • Perform all duties within established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and FSMA guidelines as well as all safety regulations.
  • Comply with Safe Quality Foods (SQF) food safety and quality standards.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Food Science, or a related field or at least five years of experience as a production supervisor in a regulated industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated good mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute safe work practices & behaviors and lead others to do the same.
  • Demonstrated leadership interest and ability to work effectively to motivate others and elicit work output.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with all levels of personnel individually or in a team environment and ability to interface and communicate with production line workers and area managers.
  • Demonstrated willingness to work any shift, weekends, and holidays.
  • Demonstrated willingness to adhere to cGMP requirements and lead others to do the same.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of frozen dessert or dairy manufacturing and packaging technology preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using modern technology and Microsoft Office Suite.
