Position: Licensed Practical Nurse LPN, FT Nights

Qualification Requirements

  • Education: Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing and holder of a current Arkansas licensure as an LPN.
  • Training and

    Experience:

    Individualized orientation period of no less than 2 weeks and generally no greater than 3 months.
  • Job Knowledge: Demonstrates competency and knowledge of LPN skills to create an environment conducive to healing. Ability to use the nursing process in the provision of care including administering treatments and medication, collecting patient data, collaborating with other providers, and educating patients and significant others.
  • Safety Sensitive: YES

Description

Under the direct supervision and delegation of the RN, the LPN delivers patient care through the nursing process: gathering assessment data, identifying nursing problems, implementing and evaluating care. The LPN collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care and desired outcomes. The LPN serves as a resource nurse when oriented, and supports the organization’s mission, vision, and values by applying knowledge of patient cultural diversity, spiritual and emotional needs.

Physical Requirements

Requires good physical and emotional well‑being. The role involves significant physical tasks such as lifting or moving patients, pushing carts, wheelchairs, and other equipment up to 50 pounds, bending over to check chest tube drainage or urinary output, and maneuvering through halls and stairways during emergencies. The position requires visual and auditory skills, writing and computer entry, and exposure to malodorous or infectious body fluids, with appropriate protective gear.
