Job Requirements
- Education:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and holds a current Arkansas licensure as a licensed practical nurse. - Training and
Experience:
Individualized orientation period of no less than 2 weeks and, generally, no greater than 3 months. - Job Knowledge:
Demonstrates competency and knowledge to assist the physician with procedures and minor surgeries. - Safety Sensitive: YES. (A “safety sensitive” position is one in which impaired performance could result in harm. Use of medical marijuana disqualifies an associate from such positions.)
Under the direct supervision and delegation of the physician, the nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care, including preparation for procedures and anticipating required supplies. The nurse collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. The nurse serves as a resource nurse when oriented and so directed, supports the organization’s mission, vision, and values, and applies knowledge of patient age, cultural diversity, spiritual, and emotional needs into the provision of care.
Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care. Applies the nursing process and assessment skills to ensure multidisciplinary patient care and teamwork that meet established practice guidelines, clinic‑specific policies, and regulatory standards.
Physical and Environmental Requirements- Physical activities involve balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, grasping, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, and use of fingers and repetitive movements.
- Possible need to carry or lift up to 50 lbs and push or pull 100‑300 lbs.
- Sensory and communicative activities require feeling, hearing, seeing, smelling, and speaking.
- Potential exposure to environmental conditions, infectious diseases, blood borne pathogens, chemical hazards, respiratory hazards, and radiological hazards.
- Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
- Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification.
- Demonstrated knowledge, training, and skills necessary for care of neonate, child, adolescent, adult, and older adult patients.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with multidisciplinary team members, patients, significant others, and physicians.
- Strong decision‑making, assessment, and critical‑thinking skills.
- Ability to set priorities and delegate/coordinate multidisciplinary care based on patient needs, census, staffing, and clinic requirements.
