Qualifications
  • Education:

    Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing and holds a current Arkansas licensure as a licensed practical nurse.
  • Training and

    Experience:

    Individualized orientation period of no less than 2 weeks and generally no greater than 3 months.
  • Job Knowledge:
    Demonstrates competency and knowledge of licensed practical nursing skills to create an environment conducive to the healing process of the patient. Ability to utilize the nursing process in the provision of nursing care including but not limited to administering treatments and medication, collection of patient data relevant to the plan of care/problem list, collaborating with other healthcare providers and providing education to patients and/or significant others.
  • Safety Sensitive: YES – positions classified as safety sensitive. Use of medical marijuana will exclude employment.
Responsibilities
  • Under the direct supervision and delegation of the RN, the LPN is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of gathering patient data for assessment, identification of nursing problems, implementation and evaluation.
  • Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
  • Serves as a resource nurse when oriented and so directed.
  • Supports the organization’s mission, vision and values.
  • Applies knowledge of patient’s age and cultural diversity, along with their spiritual and emotional needs into the provision of patient care.
  • Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.
Physical Requirements
  • Maintains good physical and emotional well-being.
  • Requires a considerable amount of physical work: lifting and moving patients, pushing carts, wheelchairs, and other equipment; lifting or pushing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must bend over for certain duties.
  • Must maneuver throughout the halls, stairways and patient rooms in response to hospital emergencies.
  • Requires visual and auditory skills, significant writing and computer entry.
  • Exposure to infectious body fluids and cleaning agents; may require gloves, masks, gowns, goggles.
