- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Current licensure in the State of Arkansas.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills.
- Individualized orientation period of no less than 2 weeks and generally no greater than 3 months.
- Ability to practice nursing as described: "The diagnosis and treatment of human responses to actual or potential health alterations."
- Ability to utilize the nursing process in the provision of nursing care including but not limited to administering prescribed treatments, medications, and diagnostic tests; formulating a plan of care using the problem list; collaborating with other health care providers; and providing education to patients and/or significant others.

DescriptionResponsible for delivering patient care through the nursing process of assessment, identification of nursing problems, implementation, and evaluation. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Serves as a resource nurse when oriented and so directed. Supports the organization’s mission, vision, and values. Applies knowledge of patient age, cultural diversity, and their spiritual and emotional needs into the provision of patient care.
Contributes to quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes.
Maintains good physical and emotional wellbeing. Responsibilities require considerable physical work. Must assist with lifting and moving patients and equipment, and lifting or pushing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to bend over to perform duties such as checking chest tube drainage or urinary output. Must maneuver throughout halls, stairways, and patient rooms during emergencies. Requires visual and auditory skills.
Significant writing and computer entry are needed. Must be prepared for exposure to malodorous, infectious body fluids, and minimal exposure to noxious smells from cleansing agents. Protective gear such as gloves, masks, gowns, and goggles may be required.
