Education- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Current licensure in the State of Arkansas.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills.
- Two to five years of clinical experience as an RN.
- ACLS, PALS, NALS, or ARORA certified as applicable to clinical area.
- Demonstrates leadership abilities and good communication skills.
Ability to practice nursing as described by the following definition: "The diagnosis and treatment of human responses to actual or potential health alterations." Ability to utilize the nursing process in the provision of nursing care including but not limited to administering prescribed treatments, medications and diagnostic tests, formulating a plan of care using the problem list, collaborating with other health care providers and providing education to patients and/or significant others.

Description- Must meet the minimal requirements of RN job description.
- Facilitates the day-to-day operation and quality of patient care delivered on the clinical unit, under the direction of the Clinical Nurse Manager.
- Responsible for the evaluation and prioritization of activities to meet the changing unit demands on a shift-to-shift basis.
- Assumes specific management responsibilities assigned by the Clinical Nurse Manager to assure the continuity of leadership on the unit.
- Assists the Clinical Nurse Manager with the development and evaluation of nursing staff and departmental associates.
- Actively supports the organization’s mission, vision and values.
- Facilitates implementation of service management philosophy.
- Represents unit in hospital committees.
- Collects, records, and analyzes data through quality improvement process and implements indicated changes.
- Maintains good physical and emotional well‑being.
- Job responsibilities require a considerable amount of physical work: lifting and moving patients, pushing carts, wheelchairs, and other equipment; and lifting or pushing up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to bend over to perform certain duties, e.g., check chest tube drainage, check urinary output.
- Must also be able to maneuver throughout the halls, stairways, and patient rooms in response to hospital emergencies.
- Interpretation of environmental input requires visual and auditory skills.
- A significant amount of writing and computer entry is required.
- Trips to various departments will be required.
- The position has heavy exposure to malodorous, infectious body fluids and minimal exposure to noxious smells from cleansing agents.
- Exposure to infectious wastes and body fluids may mandate the wearing of gloves, masks, gowns, and goggles.
