The Instructor of Nursing position is a full‑time twelve (12) month nursing education faculty member for the Nursing program on the ASU – Searcy campus.
The selected faculty member will teach all phases of the Practical Nursing and Registered Nursing Programs, supervise clinical practice, supervise additional clinical instructors as needed, teach other health‑related classes, and assist with evening and weekend classes and activities. Candidates should strive for continual improvement of student success by planning an optimal learning environment, providing high quality instruction and advising, participating in the development of learning outcomes and assessment of students and self, and engaging in ongoing professional development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Prepare and read over assigned lesson plans.
- Present lesson plans to students.
- Administer and grade tests and student assignments.
- Supervise students in all aspects of clinical education.
- Work closely with supervisor regarding nursing education teaching materials.
- Order needed supplies to teach required material.
- Work with supervisor regarding materials presented and problems encountered.
- Provide clinical supervision of client care by students.
- Make clinical assignments for students based upon knowledge level and abilities.
- Collaborate with faculty and administration on curriculum development, revision, and updates.
- Attend nursing faculty and department meetings, division meetings, and advisory meetings.
- Travel to other ASU‑Beebe campuses and clinical sites for teaching and meetings.
- Assist students with all invasive procedures performed on clients at clinical sites.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with an unencumbered license in Arkansas.
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends.
