Project Manager – Monterey, CA

Project Manager Requirements & Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of construction experience
  • Past experience as a Project Manager working for a contractor
  • Demonstrated success with heavy civil construction, pipelines, sewage, water treatment plants, and water storage projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Competent Person training
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in active construction environments and meet physical demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working outdoors
Project Manager Preferred Background & Skills
  • Experience mentoring and developing project management staff
  • Familiarity with project closeout, punch lists, record drawings, and O&M manuals
Project Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Serve as the on-site representative, leading communication and coordination among project stakeholders
  • Oversee all field engineering activities, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget
  • Enforce safety standards and company policies, coordinating with OSHA and documenting all activities
  • Review project documentation, drawings, and submittals in advance of job setup
  • Manage site logistics, including staging plans, materials, shoring, and traffic control
  • Lead pre-construction meetings and align schedules with company and client objectives
  • Support hiring, retention, and coaching of team members while nurturing a culture of professional growth
