Project Engineer, Mechanical Engineer

Summary

We are representing a mechanical contractor hiring a Senior Project Engineer to support HVAC construction projects in CA. This position assists the Project Manager in all phases of mechanical project execution, including budgeting, scheduling, submittals, and vendor coordination. • Assist the Project Manager in overseeing mechanical/HVAC scopes from preconstruction through closeout
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and purchase orders
• Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and field teams regarding project status
• Maintain project budgets, manpower logs, and construction schedules
• Support issue resolution and identify corrective actions as needed
• Track and verify submittals, equipment specifications, and material deliveries
• Contribute to project planning, vendor sourcing, and quality assurance activities
• Participate in meetings and manage internal documentation using software such as Procore, Microsoft Project, and Bluebeam

• 5+ years of experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer in HVAC, mechanical, or MEP-related construction
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Primavera (P6), Procore, and Viewpoint Vista
• Excellent communication, scheduling, and organizational skills
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, job costing, and construction sequencing
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in different stages of construction
• Comfortable collaborating with union field personnel, clients, and internal teams
