Job DescriptionJOB TITLE: Secondary Band Director, 1.0 FTE
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB SUMMARY: To provide education services to students in a classroom setting. The teacher instructs students, maintains student discipline and is responsible for student academic achievement.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
- Hold or be eligible for Oregon Teaching Certification with Middle School/High School Level authorization and a music endorsement.
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Trauma Informed Care knowledge and SIOP/Constructing Meaning training.
- Spanish speaker.
- Willingness to work with extra‑curricular activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide music instruction through high school and middle school bands aligned with the Oregon Content and Performance Standards.
- Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students.
- Assist in the selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials.
- Prepare and administer subject/topical specific tests to measure student abilities and progress.
- Design and implement appropriate instruction assigned in accordance with students' needs, district curriculum and state standards.
- Conduct appropriate assessments of students' work and maintain accurate and regular data on students in areas of attendance, grades and IEP progress, if applicable.
190‑Day Contract at 1.0 FTE. Salary based on current SEA negotiated agreement, $51,826-$105,207 annually, plus annual stipend of $6,968‑$7,546, with excellent benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance and Oregon state retirement.
