Description:
The Physician Assistant will provide outpatient care in a hematology oncology clinic.
The schedule consists of four days a week, from Monday to Thursday.
On occasion, there is the possibility to work three shifts a week from Monday to Wednesday, with 10-hour shifts.
Patients will be scheduled from 8 AM to 5 PM.Additional time may be allocated for completing charting and paperwork.
Lunch will also be provided for one hour during each shift.
The provider will work alongside an oncologist as well as independently on some days.
Responsibilities include managing patients in the infusion suite.
The provider will respond to patient inquiries regarding lab results.
Collaboration with the oncology nurse navigator is essential for triaging calls.
There is no rounding required in this position.
The position offers collaboration with a team of skilled infusion nurses, medical assistants, an oncology dietitian, a social worker, and schedulers.
Support will also be available from a specialized oncology palliative care team.
