Description The Financial Assistant (FA ) is a full-time, non-exempt position responsible for supporting financial and administrative functions with a primary focus on the Supported Living Program (SLP). This position oversees financial communication with client representative payees, Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (WA DSHS), Social Security Administration (SSA), housing authorities/landlords, Medicaid/Medicare, and with The Arc of King County’s internal finance team.
The FA ensures timely processing and tracking of reimbursement forms for client-related expenses, maintains organized financial records, assists the Supported Living quality assurance team in Individual Financial Plan (IFP) creation and maintenance, oversight of client ledgers, supports audit preparation. While collaborating closely with program management to promote transparency, accuracy, and accountability in financial and administrative processes. As well as overseeing SLP vehicle fleet tracking and maintenance.

Director of Supported Living in compliance with DSHS/DDA Policy Essential Functions General bookkeeping and data entry with a primary focus on SLP transactions.
General Ledger Maintenance: record financial transactions, including vendor invoices, bank deposits, and adjusting journal entries
Accuracy & Coding:
Ensure all entries are meticulously coded to the correct accounts, departments, or project codes
Audit Readiness:
Maintain a clean digital trail by attaching receipts, invoices, and supporting documentation directly to transactions within Quick Books. Support with audits as needed
Credit Card Management:
Expense tracking, categorizing, receipt reconciliation,Accounts Payable and Vendor Management: coordinate with vendors, process bills, create and print checks.
Maintains basic accounting and documentation practices
Assists with special financial projects, research, or data cleanup tasks as assigned.
Collaborates with Controller to submit timely and accurate invoices for current grants and contracts.
Maintains current knowledge of DDA financial processes, reimbursements, residential allowance requests (RARs), and allowable expense guidelines for Supported Living programs.
Maintains a deep working knowledge of representative payee roles, responsibilities, and communication protocols.
Responsible for billing, invoice processing and tracking of payments for trainings and events, including utilizing website interfaces.
Assists in providing training and hands on learning opportunities to expand both staff and client knowledge of processes and procedures related to finances as well as other administrative tasks associated with SLP.Keeps up-to-date knowledge of IDD services and resources applicable to clients.
Maintains participant and organizational data including monitoring, navigating and reconciliation using financial monitoring systems such as, but not limited to Digital Banking portals, and Quick Books.
Accurately responds to and resolves in a timely manner questions, concerns and/or issues related to the financial and administrative support provided in the scope of the position.
