Role Summary

The Supervisor Maintenance oversees the execution of aircraft maintenance at Alaska Airs (AS). As a people leader, the Supervisor Maintenance leads and establishes priorities for the team and ensures that it is accomplished with an emphasis on safety, productivity, reliability, and budget.

Key Duties
  • Lead team and establish priorities for aircraft maintenance and ensures that it is accomplished with an emphasis on safety, productivity, reliability, and budget.
  • Develop people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback focusing on delegation, coaching, growing and developing the team for capacity and growth, managing the performance of individuals in executing tasks, and time management.
  • Ensures efficient and economical performance of the maintenance functions while on duty.
  • Adheres to and enforces company policies and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations.
  • Communicates with the Shift Manager, On-Duty Maintenance Control regarding the status of aircraft at or transitioning to/from the station.
  • Ensures all scheduled maintenance work is accomplished in accordance with the plan for assigned station.
  • Reviews all logbook items to ensure discrepancies are corrected to prevent recurring write-ups.
  • Monitors inspection forms, work orders, and all paperwork as well as inventory to ensure the prompt requisition of materials.
  • Checks the accuracy of all log sheets.
  • Accurately estimates maintenance delays and advises others of delays.
  • Enforces all safety rules and encourages and promotes safety awareness to all assigned personnel.
  • Complies with the provisions of the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternity Association Agreement and address any concerns or issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills Required
  • 3 years of experience in Aircraft systems or maintenance.
  • Bachelor's degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
  • Airframe and Powerplant licenses.
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations and company procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate people and communicate effectively (e.g., verbal, written, and listening).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
  • Airbus and Boeing Experience.
  • Ability to learn union labor workforce contracts application and administration.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve technical issues.
  • Ability to build and maintain timelines for open, inspection, rectification of defects, close up and operational checks, while ensuring a safe on time return to service of the aircraft.
  • Ability to forecast, account for, and flow large work packages of 2000 task cards or more including generated non-routines.
  • Have an in depth understanding of aircraft Maintenance, including inspection processes, major repairs and alterations of both composite and metal structures.
  • Ability to work closely with engineering teams in development of repairs.
  • Ability to work closely with multiple teams, coordinating on aircraft work to ensure that there are no overlaps of staffing causing delays.

Salary Range

$151,300 - $170,200 / year

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon employees.
