Senior Import Agent

Responsibilities

• Prepare import shipments for assigned customers, including customs clearance, shipping, labeling, and distribution of cargo. Generate delivery orders and shipping labels as needed.
• Provide customer service through direct contact with the customer.
• Prepare import documents for distribution to the brokerage department or the customer’s broker.
• Communicate with other departments such as customs brokerage and warehouse.
• Coordinate with subcontractors such as truckers and airlines to obtain necessary information for optimal shipment processing.
• File and enter data into relevant systems.
• Manage accounts receivable for assigned accounts by collecting unpaid invoices within credit terms.

Salary Pay Range: $25.00 - $29.00

This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At NEU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate, or significant, relevant, or appropriate work experience.
• Approximately 1-2 years of freight forwarding industry experience.
• Computer skills including data entry and maintenance.
• Knowledge of general computer application technology desirable.
• Industry experience preferred.
• Some knowledge of international commerce, including sales and payment terms, methods, and customs regulations.
