Job Summary
The classification of Supervisor Ramp & Passenger Services includes managing, coordinating and controlling airport activities for both Ramp Services and Passenger Service functions. This includes monitoring quantity and quality of work performance; directing personnel; overseeing staffing; participating in discipline, coaching, counseling, hiring and termination; training subordinates; ensuring compliance; budgetary control; communication between airport board and customers; ensuring safety, security, quality and employee relations;
maintaining operations per corporate security program and TSA legislation; ensuring audit requirements; administering company s; ensuring fair and equitable treatment.
Loading & unloading of cargo (mail, express, baggage, freight, company material) on/off aircraft; transporting cargo between terminals and aircraft; ramp transfers of cargo; receiving, delivering, handling freight and company material, exporting at express docks, mail and baggage in outbound baggage room; completing forms and messages; cleaning & servicing cabin interiors, cockpit and lavatories; draining lavatories; checking, handling, assembling, removing and installing passenger service cabin furnishings;
transporting furnishings & supplies; assisting in loading, unloading and racking drums; de‑icing aircraft; cleaning external surfaces; routine cleaning of work areas, ramps, facilities; monitoring security; routine automotive repair; servicing & cleaning equipment.
- Perform all aspects of airport operations, including ticketing transactions, baggage check-in, issuing boarding passes and dispatching flights safely and timely.
- Handle baggage service functions such as filing loss, damage and pilferage claims.
- Provide efficient customer service and resolve passenger problems.
- Coordinate with all departments to ensure operational needs are met.
- Act as company representative when assigned.
- Report to work on a regular and timely basis.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions, procedure manuals.
- Perform basic math operations and interpret graphs and bar charts.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Interpret extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and manage variables.
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school; six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand English.
- Must be able to work weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), holidays and days off.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Cognitive skills to set priorities and use independent judgment.
- Ability to handle stress and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
