Pay Range: $22.24-$24.39/hour (Steps 1 through 7 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement)

Job Description

As a Ramp Agent, you’ll be at the heart of our ground operations, ensuring that our guests’ baggage and cargo are loaded, offloaded, and transported with care and precision. You’ll work in a fast‑paced, outdoor environment where teamwork, safety, and attention to detail are essential. From processing baggage and cargo to receiving and dispatching aircraft, you’ll help keep our flights running smoothly and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely lift, load, unload, and transport baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft.
  • Sort, scan, and route checked baggage in the bagroom according to flight destination, priority status, and transfer requirements.
  • Receive inbound transfer baggage from arriving flights and ensure timely delivery to outbound flights within established connection windows.
  • Deliver passenger luggage and cargo to designated locations.
  • Guide incoming and departing aircraft from the gate using hand signals and wing‑walking procedures.
  • Service aircraft water and lavatory.
  • Safely drive and operate ground equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and tow tractors in congested areas.
  • Operate baggage scanners and computers to ensure baggage is routed accurately to the customer’s destination.
  • Inspect ramp areas adjacent to gate and aircraft for debris and remove/dispose when found.
  • Maintain clear communication with flight crews and other ground personnel.
  • Monitor weather conditions and take appropriate safety measures.
  • Perform regular equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks.
  • Comply with all federal, state, municipal, airport authority, and carrier safety and security requirements.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug test.
  • Ability to pass a physical capability test.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Ability to obtain & maintain an airport SIDA badge, US Customs seal, and USPS security clearance.
  • Ability to work any shift, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Lifting up to 75 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, reach and grasp.
  • Ability to maintain reliable attendance.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with an ability to get along with others.
  • Understanding and ability to utilize electronic tools to interpret flight schedules and airline flight destination information.
  • Perform basic mathematical functions (e.g., counting bags, verifying cargo weights).
  • Ability to give/receive oral instructions in English.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
