Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our non-profit organization in Seattle, Washington. In this role, you will contribute to maintaining accurate financial records and supporting grant and fund accounting processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a collaborative attitude, ensuring alignment with our mission and culture.

Responsibilities:

- Perform daily cash reconciliations and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.

- Prepare and manage cash receipts, including processing online payments efficiently.

- Reconcile endowment funds and investments to maintain accurate financial reporting.

- Maintain and update the general ledger with precision and attention to detail.

- Assist with grant and fund accounting tasks to ensure compliance with regulations.

- Handle corporate and sales tax submissions, ensuring timely and accurate filings.

- Create detailed journal entries and ensure proper classification of financial transactions.

- Collaborate with team members to support organizational goals and maintain a positive culture.

- Generate financial reports and provide insights to aid decision-making processes.

- Ensure meticulous documentation and transparency in all accounting activities.

The salary range for this position is $69,000 to $78,000.

Requirements - Proven experience in non-profit accounting, including grant and fund accounting knowledge.

- Strong understanding of corporate and sales tax processes.

- Proficiency in managing general ledger and journal entries.

- Experience with cash reconciliations and online payment systems.

- Ability to perform endowment and investment fund reconciliations.

- High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
