Project Accountant
Job Description
This position is based 100% onsite, Monday through Friday, in Downtown Seattle, WA. The Project Accountant will primarily manage accounts payable (AP) and some accounts receivable (AR) using JD Edwards ERP systems. The role involves performing union payroll for 5-15 employees weekly, with potential increases as new projects arise. The accountant ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.
Additionally, the role includes assisting with monthly and annual financial close processes, including the preparation of consolidated financial statements. The position requires performing complex reconciliations, assisting with internal and external audits, preparing and reviewing journal entries, and correcting accounting posting errors.
Responsibilities
+ Ensure the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconcile subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.
+ Assist with monthly and annual financial close processes, including preparation of consolidated financial statements.
+ Perform complex reconciliations, including liability account roll forwards and monthly bank reconciliations.
+ Assist with internal and external audits.
+ Prepare and review journal entries and correct accounting posting errors.
+ Work with Textura, Report Now, and Pro-Cor software.
+ Assist management with preparing and analyzing various reporting needs such as Progress Billings, Lean restrictions, and Retention bonds.
+ Review contracts in Pro-Cor systems.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in accounting, general ledger, reconciliation, month-end closing, journal entries, reporting, financial statements, and balance sheets.
+ Experience in project accounting and construction accounting.
+ Proficient in JD Edwards ERP systems.
+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
+ Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
+ Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
+
Experience with Excel functions such as vlookups and pivot tables.
Additional
Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
+ 2-5 years of related construction experience.
+
Experience with Textura, accounts payable, accounts receivable, job costing, and union payroll.
Work Environment
The work environment is dynamic and involves working with various software tools such as JD Edwards, Textura, and Pro-Cor systems. The position requires a keen eye for detail to manage AP and AR duties effectively. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $43.00/hr.
