Position: Tax Preparer (CPA/EA)

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Accountant, Enrolled Agent or Certified Public Accountant to join our team. As a Tax Accountant, Enrolled Agent or Certified Public Accountant you will be responsible for preparing and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and providing financial advice to clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tax regulations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and file tax returns for individuals, businesses, corporations and trusts
  • Review financial records, such as income statements and balance sheets, to determine tax liability
  • Identify tax credits, deductions, and exemptions for clients to minimize tax liability
  • Conduct research and stay up to date with changes in tax laws and regulations
  • Assist clients with tax planning and provide guidance on financial decisions
  • Work closely with clients to gather necessary financial documents and resolve any tax-related issues
  • Respond to tax authorities' queries and assist with tax audits, if required
  • Quick Books Data Input
Job Requirements
  • Must be able to effectively organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines throughout each day to assist in meeting all clients' needs
  • Should have a good understanding of depreciation and fixed asset allocations, allowable business deductions and allocations, interest allocations, basis requirements, amended return preparations, NOL allocations, estimated tax projections and calculations, preparation of state returns, and the current tax law
  • Should have an understanding of the process of compiling the balance sheet, profit and loss, general ledger, general journals, etc.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • 30-40 hours during off peak (May - December) and 40-60 during tax season (January - April)
