Job Description
Our client is seeking a Tax Manager for their office in Farmington, CT. The position offers a salary of $130K per year plus a bonus, with flexibility for the ideal candidate. This is a full-time, hybrid role that is primarily remote. The company has 11-50 employees and requires candidates to have at least 7 years of experience in public accounting, along with CPA certification.
Key Responsibilities- Assist partners and manage client accounts.
- Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships.
- Review tax returns to ensure they are complete and accurate.
- Conduct tax research and prepare memorandums.
- Identify opportunities to grow client engagements.
- Contribute to the development of business proposals.
- Ensure timely billing and collection of fees.
- Hold team members accountable to the firm's mission, vision, and core values.
- Enhance team members' technical and professional abilities.
- Provide regular feedback and performance evaluations.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and focus on management-level responsibilities.
- Exhibit initiative, creativity, independent thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Maintain confidentiality of client and team interactions.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred; CPA certification required; advanced degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in public accounting.
- Proven leadership and management abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Capable of meeting deadlines and managing workload under pressure.
- Proficiency in MS Office, tax compliance and research software, fixed assets, Quick Books, and trial balance systems.
