Job Description

Our client is seeking a Tax Manager for their office in Farmington, CT. The position offers a salary of $130K per year plus a bonus, with flexibility for the ideal candidate. This is a full-time, hybrid role that is primarily remote. The company has 11-50 employees and requires candidates to have at least 7 years of experience in public accounting, along with CPA certification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist partners and manage client accounts.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Review tax returns to ensure they are complete and accurate.
  • Conduct tax research and prepare memorandums.
  • Identify opportunities to grow client engagements.
  • Contribute to the development of business proposals.
  • Ensure timely billing and collection of fees.
  • Hold team members accountable to the firm's mission, vision, and core values.
  • Enhance team members' technical and professional abilities.
  • Provide regular feedback and performance evaluations.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately and focus on management-level responsibilities.
  • Exhibit initiative, creativity, independent thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and team interactions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred; CPA certification required; advanced degree is a plus.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in public accounting.
  • Proven leadership and management abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Capable of meeting deadlines and managing workload under pressure.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, tax compliance and research software, fixed assets, Quick Books, and trial balance systems.
