About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced accounting professional to oversee all day‑to‑day financial operations for a manufacturing organization. This position reports directly to ownership and plays a critical role in maintaining financial accuracy, improving cost controls, and supporting strategic decisions.
This is a highly hands‑on role requiring both transactional execution and higher‑level financial insight.
Key Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Operations- Manage full‑cycle accounting including A/P, A/R, general ledger, and cash management
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Review and verify invoices, bills, and expenses
- Perform account reconciliations (bank accounts, petty cash, etc.)
- Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules
- Lead month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes
- Maintain and update vendor and customer records
- Oversee compliance with local, state, and federal tax requirements
- Partner with external accounting firms as needed
- Monitor daily cash position and manage banking relationships and credit lines
- Process weekly vendor payments
- Prepare and deliver key financial reports including:
- Balance sheet
- Income statement
- Cash flow forecasts
- Inventory reporting (WIP and finished goods)
- Customer deposits and liabilities
- Process payroll and ensure accurate and timely benefit payments
- Maintain compliance with payroll regulations
- Partner with leadership to enhance costing methodologies
- Analyze and improve cost structures and operational efficiency
- Identify opportunities to reduce overhead and improve margins
- 7+ years of experience in a full‑charge bookkeeping or accounting role
- CPA preferred but not required
- Strong experience with ERP systems and accounting software (Quick Books preferred; certification is a plus)
- Experience with online banking platforms and credit line management
- Background in cost accounting, including system development or implementation
- Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred
- Experience managing payroll and employee benefits
- Highly detail‑oriented with strong analytical skills
- Ability to operate independently and communicate effectively with leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and highly organized
- Comfortable working in a small‑to‑mid‑sized business environment
- Proactive problem solver who can improve processes, not just maintain them
- Strong business partner mindset with the ability to translate numbers into insights
