We're seeking a Grants Accountant to play a critical role in sustaining and strengthening the funding that fuels our life-saving work. If you're detail-driven, collaborative, and motivated by mission, this is an opportunity to make a real impact through your accounting expertise.

What you'll do

In this highly impactful role, you'll ensure the accuracy, compliance, and timely reimbursement of our diverse public funding portfolio by:

  • Preparing and submitting invoices for 30+ government contracts (city, county, state, and federal)
  • Monitoring grant budgets and expenditures to ensure compliance with funder requirements
  • Supporting month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Collaborating with program and payroll teams to ensure accurate grant billings
  • Tracking accounts receivable and following up to support timely reimbursements
  • Maintaining strong documentation and supporting internal and external audits

You'll work closely with the Accounting & Contracts Manager and be a trusted partner in maintaining the financial health of a mission-driven organization.

Requirements

What you bring

  • 5 years of experience in accounts receivable, staff accounting, or bookkeeping
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort with accounting systems (Sage Intacct a plus)
  • Experience with government contract billing and high-volume invoicing
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and deadline management skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field
