LHH is partnering with a small, family-owned company in Seattle, WA to search for a Staff Accountant. This individual will be handling a variety of tasks and will work closely with the Controller. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree and at least two years of accounting experience. Since you will be coordinating with internal and external customers, you need to have professional communication skills.
This position offers the chance to work with a supportive manager at a company where you will get to do a lot of different things. Also, a hybrid work schedule is offered after training.
- Process and issue high-volume customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring alignment with contract terms and billing schedules
- Reconcile customer accounts, research discrepancies, and resolve billing disputes in coordination with internal teams and clients
- Apply customer payments (ACH, wire, credit card, checks) and maintain accurate cash application records
- Support month-end close by reconciling accounts and preparing journal entries for revenue, cash, and adjustments
- Perform month-end billing reviews, ensuring all billable activity is captured, invoiced, and recorded in the correct accounting period
- Assist with month-end close deliverables, including variance analysis, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for audit and reporting purposes
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- 1–3 or more years of accounting experience, with exposure to billing and accounts receivable preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP and basic accounting principles
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Net Suite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data reconciliation)
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail, especially in high-volume transaction environments
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively during month-end close
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and customer interaction
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
