Our food and beverage industry client is currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join their team! The Staff Accountant supports day-to-day accounting operations and plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the month-end close, and partnering with operations and leadership.

The ideal candidate is hands‑on, organized, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, multi‑unit environment.

Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:
  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Maintain general ledger across multiple entities
  • Perform account reconciliations (bank, credit cards, accruals, prepaids)
  • Assist with month‑end and year‑end close
  • Prepare and file WA Excise and Seattle B&O tax returns
  • Process invoices and payments using  or similar systems
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Manage 1099 filings
  • Perform cash reconciliations and deposit tracking
  • Reconcile POS systems (e.g., CTUIT, Toast) to the general ledger
  • Apply customer payments and manage AR aging
  • Investigate and resolve variances
  • Prepare supporting schedules for financial reporting
  • Assist with variance analysis
  • Support process improvements and reporting accuracy
What the successful Staff Accountant will have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3–5 years of accounting experience (multi‑entity or restaurant experience preferred)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Experience with accounting systems (e.g., Quick Books, Dynamics)
  • Familiarity with  and POS systems is a plus
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations)
  • CPA preferred (not required)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Problem‑solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
Compensation Range:
  • $36.00 to $43.00 per hour, DOE
