Project Accountant
On-Site:
Seattle, WA
Salary: $79,000 - $83,000 DOE
Why This Opportunity Stands Out:
Join a well-established construction and specialty contracting company known for tackling complex projects across the country — backed by a larger family of operations, so you get the resources of a bigger organization without losing the hands-on, close-knit feel of a smaller team. As Project Accountant, you'll own the full project lifecycle from setup through revenue recognition and billing, working directly with project managers on both coasts and gaining broad exposure and ownership.
Key Responsibilities for the Project Accountant:
- Set up new projects in the accounting system and maintain contract documents, change orders, and client approvals
- Recognize revenue, work-in-process, and gross profit for assigned projects, including month-end close tasks like job cost accruals and WIP adjustments
- Monitor project progress and partner with project management on billing, cost tracking, and profitability
- Create and manage project-related purchase orders, and prepare/review customer billings in line with contract terms
- Support accounts receivable and collections efforts as needed
Qualifications for the Project Accountant:
- 2+ years of project accounting experience, ideally within construction
- Familiarity with ASC 606 revenue recognition, including multi-price contracts.
- Comfortable working with operations teams across multiple locations.
