SUMMARY
The Project Accounting Manager provides financial expertise to project teams, assisting with the review and posting of project costs, budgeting, forecasting, billing and evaluating project budgeting and cost accounting practices for conformity with Manson best practices. May manage or provide subject matter leadership to a team of project accountants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Responsible for providing financial support to project management and operations teams.
- Serve as the financial systems subject matter expert for assigned teams.
- Serves as a resource for project and operations management in the use of the company's ERP system.
- Support job cost accounting in the financial management system, including assisting Project Managers with budget control, change order tracking, committed cost control, and job cost transfers.
- Provides support in completing cost transfers, instituting and maintaining project budgets, updating project cost-to-complete forecasts and revenue recognition to ensure that project data in the company's ERP system is current and complete.
- Prepare monthly project reports or other reports as needed by Project Managers and Operations Leadership (e.g., project forecast and regional G&A roll-ups, open purchase orders, outstanding receivables, invoice approval queue, etc.).
- Help Assistant Controller in preparation of monthly WIP schedules.
- Assist management with the preparation of project cost-to-complete forecast projections, Work-In-Process analysis, and investigating project variances.
- Process and record project billings, owner payment applications, and project budget changes.
- Record daily cash receipts.
- Attend project-related meetings to work with the teams regarding the status of project financial, articulating problem issues, and following up on any identified actions as discussed.
- Collaborate with ERP, Finance, and Operations leadership in the development and rollout of new ERP system functionality and related processes, including testing and scoping.
- Collaborate with ERP, Finance, and Operations leadership in the development of Manson project accounting best practices.
- Ensures compliance with Manson's Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct.
- Responsible for practicing safe work standards and promoting an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) work environment as a condition of employment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or closely-related field required.
- Minimum of eight years in progressively responsible roles applying accounting and/or financial management skills and four years of cost accounting experience.
- Knowledge of project accounting principles, practices, and methods and their application to project work-related issues, including project cost-to-complete forecasts and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.
- Proficiency with CMiC is preferred, prior experience with Sage 300, Vista Viewpoint, Foundation, or similar construction software is helpful.

PHYSICAL DEMANDSPosition is primarily an office position, performs work at a desk. The employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use stairs, ladders, and step stools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
