Supervising Governmental Auditor I (Audit Manager) – Permanent, Full Time – Los Angeles County.
Responsibilities- Supervise, plan, and direct a team of professional audit staff who conduct fiscal, performance, and program audits of STRTPs, FFAs, THP‑NMDs, IMC Programs and other providers funded under AFDC‑FC.
- Establish unit goals, monitor progress, set and review unit priorities.
- Recruit, hire, train, develop, and motivate audit staff.
- Evaluate performance of audit staff; review work papers and provide feedback or consultation.
Position requires a Department of Justice fingerprinting clearance. Candidates must complete the employment history section of the application and provide unofficial transcripts if required. Applicants outside California may be considered only after proving residence in California before appointment.
Qualifications- Knowledge and experience applying general accounting and auditing principles and procedures.
- Knowledge of foster care statute and regulations.
- Familiarity with departmental structure and ability to collaborate with county placement agencies, foster care providers, and provider associations.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve complex issues.
- Detail‑oriented and capable of working independently as well as in a team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Quick Books, and related accounting software.
- Experience reviewing financial audit reports prepared by Certified Public Accountants.
- Leadership experience managing a diverse team and fostering collaboration.
