Accounting Associate

Accounting Associate responsibilities include:

• Preparation of fiduciary income tax returns (Form 1041 for trusts and estates) and beneficiary tax returns (Form 1040 for individuals)
• Process annual 1099 tax reporting forms
• Setup of new clients in accounting system
• Setup of assets in accounting system
• Enter financial transactions from investment and bank records
• Enter deposit transactions from electronic deposit records
• Submit check deposits utilizing remote deposit scanner and enter transactions
• Print and reconcile annual client statements and process edits and corrections as needed
• Collaborate with the accounting department and other company personnel to help with processing financial transactions
• Perform timely and accurate accounts reconciliation
• Detect problems and discrepancies in accounting procedures or related documentation and develop measures to resolve them
• Ensure compliance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws

Skills & Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree
• Basic understanding of accounting and financial concepts
• Experience working with accounting systems
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite & Teams
• Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
• Excellent organizational and time management skills as well as the ability to multi-task with flexibility
• The ability to learn and adapt to company procedures and principles
• Be a team player, which includes the ability to effectively communicate, coordinate tasks, and actively listen to others

Preferred:

• Experience with preparing tax returns
• Experience with fiduciary services, whether personal or professional
• Individual seeking career within the fiduciary industry.
