Financial Reporting, Financial Compliance
Henderson Drake is working with a leading advisory firm to appoint a Manager with the technical accounting depth and client-facing confidence to lead engagements where the complexity is real and the margin for error is slim.
The firm advises pre-IPO businesses, publicly listed companies, and private equity-backed organisations through transactions that rarely follow a predictable path. M&A, carve-outs, and IPO readiness sit at the core of what the team delivers, and the accounting questions that come with them demand someone who can think clearly under pressure and advise with authority.
Built by former Big Four professionals, this is a firm where the work is varied by design and the people doing it are genuinely close to the decisions that matter. For a Manager ready to step into a role with real ownership and direct senior exposure, the environment is there.
What you will be doing
- Lead client engagements across M&A, divestitures, IPO readiness, interim management, and technical accounting matters
- Review financial statements and SEC filings, getting ahead of issues before they surface elsewhere
- Develop financial models, forecasts, and analyses that inform decision-making at the highest level
- Oversee business process improvement initiatives in close collaboration with client finance teams
- Serve as the point of connection between client senior management and their auditors
- Manage and guide engagement teams, maintaining quality and consistency throughout delivery
- Build and develop client relationships, identifying opportunities to deepen and grow them over time
- Establish subject matter expertise in areas such as business combinations, revenue recognition, or stock-based compensation
- Play an active role in firm-building activity including recruiting and strategic growth initiatives
What you will bring
- 5+ years in public accounting, audit, or accounting advisory
- CPA or MBA, with a degree in accounting
- Strong technical command of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
- A proven ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously without compromising on quality
- Clear, confident communication with senior stakeholders including boards and auditors
- An entrepreneurial mindset and the drive to contribute beyond the immediate scope of each engagement
- Willingness to travel in line with client requirements
Why this opportunity
- Direct access to senior management on the transactions that define their businesses
- The space to develop a recognised technical specialism within a practice that is actively growing
- Client relationships built on continuity rather than project-by-project rotation
- A firm at a stage where your contribution shapes its direction, not just its output
- An advisory-led culture that has deliberately avoided the bureaucracy of larger firms
