Keyjob responsibilities
Technical Accounting & Controllership
- Research, conclude, and memorialize technical accounting position papers
- Review licensing agreements and interpret contractual terms to determine appropriate revenue recognition under ASC 606
- Prepare and review technical accounting memos under US GAAP, ensuring regulatory compliance
- Execute quarterly reviews and sign-offs on SOX 404 key controls, ensuring robust internal control framework
- Understand internal control design concepts sufficient to assess the effectiveness of controls and design new processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams including Finance, Production, Tax, Sales, and Technology to ensure alignment and effective information flow
- Build trust and credibility with senior leadership through clear, concise communication
- End-to-end process ownership to support finance and business partners
- Drive projects, provide accounting guidance, and often serve as first point of contact for finance and business partners to launch new projects and resolve issues
- Enhance partnerships between Accounting and various business and IT groups
- Evaluate existing processes and recommend, develop, and drive improvements to increase efficiency and scalability
- Drive AI and automation solutions for operational improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy across accounting processes
- Identify process improvement and automation opportunities to drive positive change across the organization
- Create process improvements with automation and analysis to scale and improve controllership with measurable results
- Lead delivery of accounting tasks and projects across multiple business verticals
- Prioritization of tasks while providing active coaching to a team of talented individuals
- Escalate risks and issues as necessary to leadership
- Act as a subject matter expert for internal technology teams and business partners
- 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- CPA
- Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency
- Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
- Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
- Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions
