Senior Manager, Global Functional Leader for Accounts Payable

Amazon seeks an experienced senior manager to be the global functional leader for the accounts payable vertical on the finance operations accounting & analysis (FOAA) team. Key job responsibilities include setting and executing goals for the FOAA AP functional area globally, prioritizing automation projects within FOAA AP to drive FOAA baseline savings goals, driving operational excellence by identifying business process re-engineering opportunities and partnering with the project team to provide accounting requirements that maintain the highest level of controllership, driving global reporting format standardization and setting SLAs, ensuring all central accounting deliverables are met within SLAs by analyzing account activity, validating account balances are materially correct, and explaining business drivers for account balance fluctuations.

The role also involves influencing business decisions with effective verbal and written communication, data-driven analysis, and presentation of alternatives, facilitating financial review meetings with Fin Ops leadership, including design and review of internal financial reports, and raising the bar on hiring, developing, and retaining the best talent to continue building our world-class team of finance professionals.

A day in the life of this position involves being the key partner for global accounts payable senior leadership and partnering with global operations and accounting teams to identify areas of controllership risk, compliance risk, and related financial accounting impact. The ideal candidate is a highly proactive self-starter with a strong operational and accounting background, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail who will take ownership and drive positive change including evaluating and streamlining existing operational and accounting processes, controls, and metrics.

This role has regular interaction with various business units across Amazon and requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.
