Accounting Manager

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to support a Seattle, Washington organization in a Long-term Contract position expected to run for 6 months. This role will focus on maintaining day-to-day accounting operations, overseeing an accurate monthly close, and delivering reliable financial reporting during a period of team transition. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, thrives in a consultative environment, and can contribute both to core accounting execution and to broader process-focused initiatives.

Responsibilities:

- Lead the month-end close process and ensure deadlines are met with accuracy and consistency.

- Oversee general ledger activity, including review of journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

- Prepare financial statements and related reporting packages for internal and external stakeholders.

- Support audit readiness by organizing documentation, validating balances, and responding to financial statement audit requests.

- Partner with leadership on revenue recognition activities, including continued integration of accounting ownership into standard finance operations.

- Contribute to external reporting requirements and help improve the quality and timeliness of deliverables.

- Assist with billing-related initiatives and evaluate how billing activity connects to revenue accounting outcomes.

- Use Deltek Vantage Point and related interface tools to help manage accounting workflows and reporting needs. Requirements

- Proven experience leading month-end close in an accounting management or senior accounting capacity.

- Strong background in general ledger management, account reconciliation, and journal entry review.

- Demonstrated ability to prepare complete financial statements and support financial reporting processes.

- Experience working with revenue recognition principles, ideally within project-based or consulting services environments.

- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze data and build useful reporting schedules.

Experience with Claude is desired.

- Prior consulting or contract-based accounting experience is preferred.

- Familiarity with Deltek Vantage Point or comparable accounting platforms used in architecture, engineering, or consulting services firms.

- Ability to work onsite in Seattle, Washington three days per week is preferred, with remote flexibility available for candidates with relevant experience.
