About The Role:

The Senior Commercial Property Accountant is responsible for leading day-to-day accounting operations for TRF Pacific’s commercial real estate portfolio. This role works closely with the Managing Partner, property managers, ownership groups, and internal accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong controls, timely reconciliations, and practical accounting support across multiple entities.

Job Duties:

  • Maintain accounting records, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal controls

Provide clear updates to leadership, property managers, and team members

  • Record and track contributions, distributions, expenses, and inter-company transactions across multiple TRF entities and structures
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including reconciliations, variance analysis, and preparation of financial statements
  • Review property accounting and asset-level financials to ensure accurate reporting and alignment with fund objectives
  • Project Management, tracking projects, identifying issues, and helping remove roadblocks for team
  • Collaborate with administrators, property managers, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate financial information
  • Participate in audits and regulatory filings as needed
  • Provide oversight and support for the accounts payable and accounts receivable team.
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements and special projects as assigned
  • Remain flexible and proactive in addressing new tasks and responsibilities as the company grows and evolves

Description of Duties:

  • Bring structure, organization, and clear communication to the accounting department.
  • Oversee daily accounting duties in partnership with the lead accountant.
  • Manage year-end and month-end close processes for TRF Pacific and its clients.
  • Communicate with tenants on accounting questions
  • Prepare and review CAM reconciliations and related tenant billings.
  • Work with property managers on budgets
  • Billing tenants for property taxes and insurance
  • Monthly bank reconciliation
  • Month-end close
  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Reconciling cash account balances twice a month for check run purposes
  • Generate monthly rent charges and review rent schedules for accuracy.
  • Delegate and review lease entry in the accounting software to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist in lease renewals
  • Assist with questions related to accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, and the general ledger.
  • Create accounting reports as needed for leadership, property managers, and special projects.
  • Mentor accounting team
  • Identify process improvements and efficiencies that help the accounting team work more accurately and effectively.
  • Customer service to tenants with questions on statements
  • Complete ad hoc and special accounting projects for the Managing Partner.

Required Skills:

  • 10 years’ minimum experience in accounting
  • 10 years’ minimum experience with AR and AP
  • 5 years' minimum experience in tax
  • Attention to detail, with a record of accuracy.
  • Microsoft 365 experience required

Preferred

Skills:

  • 5 years of Sage (any version) and Yardi experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Sage 300 experience (specific Sage Software)
  • Management experience in fostering and mentoring a successful team

This position includes the base pay range of between $80,000-$ only candidates meeting above the top requirements for the position will be offered the top range.

The total compensation also includes a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401k with $2,000 match annually.
