Full Charge Bookkeeper

Description

We are looking for a Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage the daily accounting operations for a growing design-build company. This position is ideal for someone who can maintain reliable financial records, work independently, and provide leadership with clear insight into the company's financial position. The role requires a strong grasp of construction-related bookkeeping and the ability to keep reporting accurate, organized, and ready for review.

Responsibilities:

- Generate client invoices and progress billings in accordance with contract terms, while tracking deposits, incoming payments, and recognized revenue

- Oversee the full accounts payable cycle by validating expenses, assigning proper coding, and issuing payments on schedule

- Reconcile financial data across bookkeeping, project management, and timekeeping platforms to keep records consistent and up to date

- Record and balance intercompany activity, ensuring financial information is properly reflected across related entities

- Maintain the general ledger with accuracy and completeness, resolving discrepancies before they affect reporting

- Produce regular financial statements and management reports by compiling, reviewing, and interpreting accounting data

- Assist with tax filings and regulatory reporting obligations at the local, state, and federal levels

- Support payroll accounting tasks, including posting related entries and maintaining accurate payroll records

- Help standardize the chart of accounts and strengthen accounting procedures across the organization

- Contribute to the integration of accounting processes as the business advances toward a unified design-build structure

The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $115,000.

Requirements - Demonstrated experience in full charge bookkeeping with ownership of day-to-day accounting activities

- Proficiency in Quick Books and confidence working within accounting software on a regular basis

- Hands-on knowledge of both accounts payable and accounts receivable processes

- Experience performing bank and account reconciliations with a high level of accuracy

- Background in the construction industry or another project-based environment with contract billing exposure

- Familiarity with Buildertrend or similar project management platforms used alongside accounting systems

- Understanding of general ledger structure, chart of accounts management, and financial reporting principles
