Accounts Payable Specialist

Description

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to support day-to-day payment operations for a food processing organization in Seattle, Washington. This role focuses on accurate invoice handling, timely disbursements, and responsive vendor support while helping maintain organized financial records. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced accounting environment.

Responsibilities:

- Enter and process invoices and credit adjustments each day, ensuring records are accurate and complete.

- Coordinate domestic and international wire payments while following established approval procedures.

- Examine check runs and electronic payments to confirm supporting documentation is in place and authorizations are valid.

- Build and maintain productive relationships with vendors by addressing payment matters professionally and promptly.

- Investigate invoice discrepancies and respond to questions related to billing, payments, and account activity.

- Reconcile vendor statements on a regular schedule and resolve outstanding differences in a timely manner.

- Contribute to month-end activities by assisting with accrual reporting and related accounts payable support.

- Track unresolved items through completion and provide follow-up to ensure issues are closed efficiently.

- Support additional accounting tasks and special assignments as business needs require.

The salary range for this position is $56,000 to $70,000.

Requirements - Experience working in accounts payable with responsibility for high-volume invoice and payment processing.

- Working knowledge of invoice coding, credit memo handling, and routine check run procedures.

- Ability to process wire transfers accurately, including both domestic and international transactions.

- Strong vendor communication skills with the ability to resolve payment and invoice issues effectively.

- Experience performing statement reconciliations and identifying discrepancies in vendor accounts.

- Familiarity with month-end accrual support and general accounts payable controls.

- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail in a deadline-driven setting.
