Salary Range: $38.96 - $47.24 per hour

Tuesday 11:30am-8pm. Week 2 – Wednesday 9:30am-6pm;
Thursday 9:30am-6pm;
Friday OFF;
Saturday 9:30am-6pm;
Sunday 9:30am-6pm;
Monday OFF;
Tuesday 11:30am-8pm.
Hours include weekdays, evenings and weekends. This is an in-person role. Schedules are subject to change. This classification is part of a bargaining unit represented by AFSCME.
Responsibilities- Provide broad information services for patrons in person, by phone, chat and email. Assist with using Library technology (Microsoft Office, internet search, eBooks, online resources, printing, scanning, copying).
- Locate information in response to patron requests; refer complex questions to an appropriate reference service provider when needed.
- Assist with technology troubleshooting at public computers, print services, and distribution of internet guest passes; provide instruction to groups and individuals.
- Provide information on Library operations, services and policies across the Library system.
- Support duties and special projects, including maintaining and updating branch and region-specific information in internal online environments.
- Promote Library services and support services; assist with public instruction sessions and programs, including setup, scheduling, communication and marketing.
- May serve on committees and assist colleagues with programs and outreach; provide technical and administrative support; perform typing, filing, ordering supplies and contributing to SharePoint pages.
- Education:
A high school diploma or GED required; post-secondary education and/or relevant work experience considered;
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Experience using Library information resources in print and electronic formats; proficient with dictionaries, encyclopedias, online databases, and library website; familiarity with other public technology support systems helpful.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills. At least three (3) years of professional customer service experience; strong written and oral communication; ability to work in a team.
- Ability to prioritize and manage daily tasks; organized, proactive, with good judgment.
- Strong problem-solving and deductive reasoning abilities; able to apply Library policies appropriately.
- Proficiency with basic computer office applications (MS Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to manage electronic files and use shared documents; familiarity with office equipment and troubleshooting.
- Project management skills; experience assisting with events or projects, coordinating resources, monitoring progress, marketing and reporting.
- Experience maintaining intranet pages or other staff information resources.
- Experience working with racially, culturally and economically diverse communities.
- Experience interacting with people experiencing housing insecurity and individuals with addiction or mental illness.
- Knowledge of de-escalation techniques and demonstrated use of those skills.
- Ability to read and speak Amharic, Chinese, Oromo, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Tigrinya or Vietnamese.
- Experience in social services and/or providing computer assistance to adults.
