Position: Administrative Assistant 2 (Temporary)

Overview

The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) seeks a temporary Administrative Assistant 2 to join their team. This role supports CTL and Teaching@UW Network programs and services, including coordinating awards, workshops, and instructional support initiatives across UW campuses. The position reports to the Associate Director for CTL and collaborates with CTL staff and Teaching@UW Network partners to ensure programming meets Teaching@UW standards of excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Administrative Support for Teaching@UW programs (90%).
  • Schedule program- and event-related meetings and manage Outlook invitations.
  • Organize and vet nomination, application, and review materials for UW’s Distinguished Teaching Awards, tri-campus awards, and graduate teaching awards.
  • Field inquiries from nominees, nominators, and applicants.
  • Create, test, and refine registration and application forms.
  • Reserve meeting and event spaces; handle food/beverage arrangements.
  • Create and send program certificates for Teaching Online 101 and AI+Teaching participants.
  • Complete basic tasks in the Canvas LMS.
  • Coordinate payment processing with the Executive Office Shared Services and departmental admins; update program data and certificates; schedule Teaching@UW Network meetings.
  • Other Duties as Assigned (10%).
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires High School/GED and two years of office or administrative support experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated record of successful collaboration.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with scheduling tools and practices.
  • Experience working in a hybrid work environment and in higher education.
  • Experience with Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and Slack.
  • Experience with event registration software (e.g., Trumba) and LMS (e.g., Canvas).
  • Experience communicating with faculty.
Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum: $45,288.00 annual

Pay Range Maximum: $57,480.00 annual
