Work LocationInitial training period will be at the King County Courthouse in Seattle. Regular worksite will be 724 West Smith Street, Suite 101, Kent WA 98032 upon office consolidation; date TBD. Any change in the position or work group will be determined by the needs of the Family Support Division.
Work ScheduleThis position works a 40‑hour work week schedule, normally Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Employees assigned to this position enjoy a hybrid work schedule that allows telecommuting with a minimum of three days in office per week, subject to business needs and a telecommuting agreement. If a successful candidate is new to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, they will be required to work in office four days a week for the first six months of employment.
Employees may be provided with a laptop and/or thin client and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
SalaryRange 38 - $29.25 (step one) - $37.08 (step ten)
Union MembershipPositions in this classification are represented by Teamsters Local No. 117.
BenefitsThis position is eligible for King County’s generous benefits package. Additional benefits are listed on the benefits tab. Employees with less than two years of service will receive .25 per hour less than the hourly salary table due to a mandatory contribution toward the Teamsters Pension Trust; this contribution is made by the employee and after two years it is paid by the employer.

Special RequirementsFinalists must successfully submit to a criminal background check, reference check, and be fingerprinted.
Responsibilities- Responsible for preparing, serving and filing modification petitions, which includes printing, copying and mailing weekly batches of filing packages
- Processes various motions, orders and documents, which can involve copying, mailing, scanning and e‑filing documents with the court and performing data entry in SEMS (Support Enforcement Management System)
- Opens new modification referrals from the Division of Child Support which includes setting up a physical file
- Point person for emails, voice mails, and documents received from people who are involved in private actions involving child support and public assistance. Gathers the information necessary for a deputy to determine if our office should be involved in the case, assigns case to a deputy, and maintains a spreadsheet of appearance cases
- Assembles and files working papers for trials and hearings, which may include preparing binders for the court
